Unitarianism Teaches Heresy!
by Robert J. Stewart

1. Unitarian's Teach That God Is Only One Person Instead of Three Persons Combined!

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." 1st John 5:7

The Scriptures cannot be any simpler than the text mentioned above! God is NOT one Person; but rather three distinct Persons united as One (Deuteronomy 6:4) . The Father, The Word (Son of God), and the Holy Ghost (Spirit).  We clearly see this doctrine taught in Matthew 28:19, in the Great Commission!,

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Matthew 28:19

 Also, Jesus proclaimed...

"I and my Father are one." John 10:30

What Unitarianism teaches is also called "antitrinitarianism," or better known as denying the Trinity (Godhead). This is Heresy! If you deny the Trinity, then you deny all of God's Word! Thus, you deny Jesus was ever God's "only Begotten Son." Which means anyone holding onto this doctrine is on a one way ticket to Hell! (The antitrinitarianism view is also found in other false religions such as the Jehovah's Witnesses.)

"And God said, Let us make man in our image..." Genesis 1:26

2. They teach That Human Reasoning And Experience Is The Final Authority!

Another heresy Unitarianism holds to is that God's Word is not the Final Authority; but rather, we as individuals, in our own experience and reasoning, can find truth and final authority in ourselves.   Unitarianism relies solely upon man's reasoning in all areas dealing with spirituality; or matters of  right or wrong.  I say though, what does the Bible teach us Christians?

"God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar..." -Romans 3:4

"For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God." -Romans 10:3

What the Bible teaches us is that we, as sinful human beings, are not qualified to make our own moral laws (Proverb 20:24).  "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9).  We must trust in God...

"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." Psalms 118:8

We are sinners deserving of Hell; but by the Grace of God we can be saved from Hell (Ephesians 2:8,9).  We must obey the True Final Authority--The Word of God!  God intended for our life to be much more than just eat, drink, and be merry...

"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4

We as humans are prone to wrath and rebellion (Ephesians 2:2,3). So why base our final authority on frail human experience and reasoning, when there is an Omnipotent and Holy God up in Heaven who is Perfect?  No where does God's Word state that we should base our Final Authority on human experience and reasoning!  But the Scriptures do always point to God as being our Final Authority!  Besides, man will die one day (Romans 6:23); BUT, God's Word will never die (Psalm 119:89).  Why base our final authority upon ourselves, when we will die one day because of our sins?  God's Word will never die...

"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." 1st peter 1:23

It's only logical that the our Final Authority should be God's Word!

3. Unitarians Teach That Jesus Became the Son of God at His Baptism In The Jordan River

Unitarian's believe that Jesus was not God's only begotten Son until AFTER His baptism.  Well, this isn't true because Jesus was ALWAYS God's Son...

"...the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" Revelation 13:8

"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." John 8:58; Exodus 3:14

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God ... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:1, 2, 14; Revelation 19:13

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Revelation1:8

The Son of God appeared with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego in Nebuchadnezzar's fiery furnace...

"He (Nebuchadnezzar) answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."

4. Unitarianism Adverts The Spread of Homosexuality!

"Unitarianism is the first non gay denomination to ordain women and gays to ministry, and to perform gay weddings. A gay wedding was performed February 11, 1974, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, by Rev. Norm Naylor through the reading of bans (a common law substitute for a marriage license)." -SOURCE

In an article by the Unitarian Universalist Association, titled "We Are Unitarian Universalists," the following words are stated...

It is such sexual SINS which brought the fiery judgment of God upon the wicked Old Testament cities of Sodom and Gomorrah...

"Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." Jude 7

The Bible is very clear concerning those who love the heathen world instead of God:

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." 1st John 2:15

What is so bad about Unitarians fighting for gay rights?  The Bible declares that homosexuality is an abomination unto God (Leviticus 20:13)!  If you support the gay rights movement, then you are certainly not of God--but of Satan!  Ephesians 5:11 couldn't be any clearer, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."  Unitarians ought to be EXPOSING the works of darkness instead of fellowshipping with them.  2nd Corinthians 6:14-17 warns every believer to SEPARATE from the unsaved, and those who live in open sin.  Verse 17 reads, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord..."

"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit." Matthew 7:18

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." Leviticus 18:22

Conclusion

Friend, I beg of you to leave the Unitarianism religion. Unitarians may have religion, but they have not the Holy Spirit of God.  They are just as bad as the unsaved ... because they are unsaved.  Jesus never taught any of the heresies that Unitarianism teaches today.  Tragically, Unitarians think they can find the truth within themselves.  Unitarians are Humanists, putting their trust in man's philosophies instead of God's Word.  Humanism teaches that we have the power within us to live triumphant without God.  But this is NOT true!  I plead with you, leave this religion and get saved now before it's too late!
